iBook Clamshell Help!?
I have had an iBook clamshell since summer of 2009. I have since then noticed the following problems:
•It will not work with the newer versions of Java and Adobe Flash
•Videos often lag behind the sound and appear to move from one frame to the next like a slideshow, not a video
•How can I change the type of optical drive it has
•How can I install a larger Hard Disk Drive
•The battery life has gone from probably 6 hours when first bought, to 1 and a half hours now
•It often goes into sleep mode without warning and wont come out of sleep unless i plug in the charger
•Often when i plug in the charger the laptop wont start charging
•And or some reason often when i put pictures and documents on the computer it will put them in a different account/folder/IDK
Please help me find a solution to these problems!
My laptop runs Mac OS X Tiger version 10.4.11
My computer has 128MB of RAM
What system software are you using? Unless you are using Tiger (10.4) with at least 512 mb of ram, the newer apps don’t work.
Get a new battery, skip eBay, 70% of their batteries are cheap knockoffs and will damage the Mac. a lot of your problems are caused by a weak or shorted battery and old system software.
The only way to change the optical drive is to find a used on on eBay that will play CDs & DVDs. You can also get a larger hard drive, check www.lowendmac.com for specs and deals.
