how to connect a canon mv920 mini dv to a mac?
ive got a canon mv920 and ibook G4 all i want to know is how to transfer videos from the camera to the mac and edit on i movie?
i also have a ads IEEE1394 to connect the camera.

You need a 4-pin (camcorder’s DV port) to 6-pin (iBook G4 firewire port)firewire cable.
Properly connect the camcorder to the computer.
Power up the iBook. When at a “stable” desktop, put the camcorder in “Play” mode. Using the camcorder’s AC power supply connected to a known working mains outlet is strangly suggested.
Launch iMovie. Name the iMovie Project file, select the destination for the iMovie project files, Select the video format – with a MV920, that would be DV (or possibly DV widescreen – depends how you captured the video). Create. The blue iMovie window, indicating the camcorder is connected, will appear. Rewind the tape (using the iMovie camcorder controls) if needed, then Import.
Alert: 60 minutes of standard definition video will use about 14 gig of hard disc space when that video is imported to the computer. An external drive for video project file storage is strongly suggested.
