macbook charger problems?
last night i had my charger plugged into my computer and it was working fine. but then this morning we had a power outage and my computer was still plugged in with it and now the charger is not working
i have tried almost every plug in the house and the charger isn’t working but they work for everything else.
i have tried jiggling it and it works and flickers but then the light and the charge go away within a few seconds or so. i have tried taking out the battery and putting it back in but is still doesn’t work. the charger doesn’t work on our other computer also.
the charger is a magsafe for our macbooks not pros.
please help. =)
There is a thought shoot the PRAM and that will clear the laptops memory and it shoule find the charger.
Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys.
The other thought is the cable at the base of the charger which connects the laptop that goes bad there are ways to fix it yet getting a new one is better.
