Want to get an original iBook? is it worth it?
I have seen iBooks price on ebay good that for a fairly. They look really cute (I know I know, lol) and I was just wondering if they were worth. I currently have a Dell Inspiron 1525. I do not think about using the iBook as a replacement for my laptop plan, just to maybe go online and learn how to use (type) of Mac OS. What do you think? I asked one of my older cousins, and he said, that it is not worthwhile because they are very slow? And even if I were to get one, I would … the green, like an iBook Firewire or do something?
Getting an iBook is really not worth it. There are three main types of iBooks: the original G3 models (also known as "clamshell"), which updated G3 model, and the G4 model. An iBook G3 model is absolutely not worth it. The old G3 models are not running the latest Mac OS X 10.5 operating system, so it will not suspend or you get famaliar with the latest technology from Apple. Also, even if the G3 model of the older Mac running OS X 10.4, they are incredibly slow and prone to freezing, not to mention that the G3's, especially the "clamshell's" horrendous battery life. Since you talk about different color iBooks, I assume are you referring to the "clamshell" model. I would avoid like the plague iBook Clamshell – its a waste of money and it's better out there. You are running slow and battery life is terrible. Sinec want to talk, to replace a laptop, I would not with any iBook to go what so ever.
